Mass Production
System 4 (MPS4) CD-Recording system allows for simultaneous
premastering and recording of four separate images
onto CD-R media
Redlands,
California, August 30, 1999. Young Minds, Inc. (YMi)
announces the release of the Mass Production System
4 (MPS4). The MPS4 is a fully networkable enterprise-wide
CD-Recording system. This self contained and cost-effective
solution combines powerful premastering software,
intelligent SCSI controllers, up to four 8x writers,
a thermal CD label printer and robotic technology.
The system seamlessly creates up to 120 unique CDs
without user intervention.
MPS4
utilizes MakeDisc, long considered the world's most
powerful premastering software. Besides ISO 9660,
MakeDisc allows for the creation of true Rock Ridge
and Joliet discs. Because of YMI’s revolutionary
tape emulation technology, users can create an exact
copy of any data image on a UNIX workstation.
The
fully configured MPS4 has four modular controllers
and one robotics arbiter mounted in a rugged multi-rack
case. The MPS4 is connected to a robotic autoloader,
the Power Automation Station (PAS). The fully configured
PAS has four 8X recorders and an integrated thermal
CD label printer.
MPS4
offers unparalleled flexibility and upgradibility.
Many users purchase a simple system with only one
controller and upgrade over time. The upgrade is
as simple as sliding an arbiter or new controller
into a free bay and connecting a few cables. The
PAS can be upgraded along with the MPS4. Users can
start with one 8x recorder and add a thermal CD
printer and up to three more recorders for full
capacity. The MPS4 will soon be able to take advantage
of DVD technology.
Mission
critical reliability is achieved through MPS4’s
modular design. A controller can be removed without
effecting the functionality of the other controllers.
Young
Minds, Inc. pioneered CD-ROM mass storage and CD-Recordable
systems in the UNIX market. Young Minds provides
a complete line of UNIX and Windows NT CD-Recording
and storage solutions to business, industry, government
agencies and educational institutions.
