Redlands, CA, April 4, 2001 -- Young Minds,
Inc. (YMi) of Redlands, California today released
the newest member of its growing CD/DVD Studio
family of CD- and DVD-Recording products,
StudioX. StudioX is designed for high output
environments and applications, such as check
imaging, Storage Solution Providers (SSP),
e-commerce, and satellite imaging. StudioX
products include CD StudioX and DVD StudioX.
Both CD and DVD versions can support up to
four disc autoloaders to maximize production
capacity.
StudioX
is a high performance hardware/ software solution,
controlling one or more disc autoloaders with
up to four 16x CD or DVD recordable drives
and disc label printers. StudioX, with its
ability to attach to any workstation or server
running a UNIX, Linux, or Windows NT operating
system, continues Young Minds' twelve year
history of providing the industry's most extensive
line of cross-platform CD-R and DVD-R data
storage solutions.
"With
StudioX, we have packed all the performance
and reliability of our large, rack-mounted
MPS4+ system into a desktop package that is
one-tenth the size," said Jim Bolander, Young
Minds' VP of Sales. "Many of our customers
told us they loved our technology but preferred
not having to allocate floor space. Despite
its small size, StudioX delivers fast and
reliable disc recording. In essence, you only
have to allocate space in your floorplanning
for an autoloader because any of the PAS disc
autoloaders that it runs fit right on top
of it."
Matthew
Hornbeck, President of Young Minds, spoke
of StudioX performance: "We have been able
to download 650MB of data -- a full CD --
in 90 seconds to StudioX. With four 16x CD-R
drives, StudioX can record over 700 full CDs
in just 24 hours - about one half terabyte
of data."
