Redlands,
Calif.--October 8, 2001--Young Minds, Inc.
(YMi) announced today that it has selected
Data Assurance Technology Associates (DATA)
of Palm Springs, California to distribute
Young Minds data storage products in the United
States. The agreement is effective immediately,
and positions DATA as the exclusive distributor
for all YMi domestic sales. At the same time,
Young Minds reaffirmed its international distribution
agreement with ARTH International (ARTH),
which continues ARTH's exclusive international
distribution and worldwide reseller agreements
. ARTH has been the exclusive international
distributor and an authorized reseller for
YMi since 1997.
"We
are very excited to have DATA representing
Young Minds' products in the United States,"
said Andrew Young, Chairman and co-founder
of YMi. "With DATA, we have an organization
with many years of CD-R and DVD-R experience
representing our products to our target
markets and customers, who are typically
very sophisticated data storage and IT professionals."
"This
continues the outsourcing we began in 1997,
when we selected ARTH as our international
distribution organization. Moving sales
responsibilities to independent organizations
allows us to concentrate completely on product
development. The accelerated pace of new
product announcements over the past two
years is a direct result of the increased
focus we gained from using ARTH. Adding
DATA as our domestic sales organization
will further improve our focus and allow
us to continue the momentum we have built
over the last couple of years," continued
Young.
"We
are very pleased to have been selected by
Young Minds to manage their U.S. product
sales," stated Robert Levine, DATA's Vice
President of Marketing. "Young Minds has
an enviable reputation for innovation, technical
expertise, market-leading products, and
customer support. We are looking forward
to a long and productive partnership with
both Young Minds and our customers."
"The
past four years have been notable for the
sales growth that we have seen with Young
Minds' products, particularly in Europe,"
according to Johann Rath, President of ARTH
International. "The continuance of our agreement
with Young Minds allows ARTH to continue
expanding our international sales of Young
Minds' products."
